Alessandro Papini is a cybersecurity professional with forty years in the field. He founded SosHacking.it, Italy’s first platform dedicated to supporting victims of cybercrime, and chairs the Italian Privacy Academy. He is an Accredia UNI11697-certified DPO and court-appointed technical consultant at the Florence Tribunal.

Over his career he has mediated ransom demands between compromised companies and international criminal groups, testified in dozens of cybercrime proceedings, and explained how Dark Web markets work to the Italian Chamber of Deputies, and has been a speaker at scores of conferences and round tables. He was the first professional in Italy able to decrypt certain CryptoLocker variants during the peak of the ransomware emergency.
